Can you Self-indoctrinate?

Fake it until you make it.

Yes, but it’s hard. If you have an inclination for nihilism you think it’s the stupidest thing to consider tricking yourself. Hear me out. There’s no doubt as a people we have a history of believing in what we developed in our imagination. We have a history of creating myth and then believing myth. Why wouldn’t you use that same structure for something good in your life?

Say you want to change your habits and behavior but it’s not sticking because you subvert yourself. You may want to convince yourself that you are not a person who would subvert themselves. That means to change internal dialogue.

“I just get so mad I have to yell at him.”

Can change to

“I’m going to disengage and not let his actions lead to anger.“

The first internal dialogue is losing your control to your emotional state affected by outside forces.

The second internal dialogue is asserting your authority over the external stimulation to achieve your desired results.

In a way “fake it ‘til you make it.“
